Mt Holly Michigan

Yesterday’s Big Air Comp at Mt Holly, Michigan was a blast!  There were close to a hundred competitors in various divisions and we had some killer prizes.  I think there were SEVEN snowboards given away along with a pair of Head Skis and tons of other great gear!  Thank you for being a part of the day!!!

Mt holly competition is rescheduled for sunday

Well, I spoke too soon last night!  The competition has been rescheduled due to high winds and a power outage at Mt Holly.  We’ll be out there tomorrow (Sunday) rockin the hill. Check back here and at the Mt Holly website for more updates.

2012 Competition Information

The comp is still scheduled for March 3, 2012.  We will be registering participants from 9 am till 10 or so.  The day will start out on our rail park for the Rail Jam.  Warm up starts at 10 am.  We will be running our age brackets in a Jam format for 20 minutes each.  Then we will take the best 3 people from each bracket and allow them an additional 15 minute session to crown the victor of each division.

This year we are going to try a new slopestyle park on the Snowstream run.  This is partly due to the weather conditions this winter and the fact that we already have a solid foundation to work off of.  The park is going to grow in jump size and technicality of rails. Each rider will have two runs to put together the best line possible for the win.

Prizes will be awarded for the Rail Jam and Slopestyle  at the end of the Slopestyle event.  We will also be throwin out a ton of swag for all who enters.

Finally, this years park on Canyon is going to consist of  the big boys.  The hill is well covered so we should be able to build some very large jumps this year.  By taking away the slopestyle event, it allows us to put together a jump line that is going to blow people away.  Then there is the Big Air.  By keeping one jump line down the hill, we will be able to build a jump at the bottom of Canyon, for the Big Air event, that will truly be worthy of the event.  In the past we have played around with the Big Air jump, last years was a step up of sorts, but this year we are getting back to the basics and building a big ole step down.  The Big Air event will start promptly at 6 pm and will be an hour long Jam Session.  The winner of the best ski trick and snowboard trick will be determined by the audience.  And of course the prize for Big Air is Cash Money! Should be exciting.

Here is the break down of age groups:

1.    Youth-12 both Skiers and Snowboarders

2.    13-17 Mens Snowboarders

3.    18 and up Mens Snowboarders

4.    Womens both Skiers and Snowboarders

5.    Mens Skiers (may be broken into two age groups depending on the amount of riders)

Last but not least, it will be $15 for one event, $25 for entering two, or $35 for all three.
